Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how BizcardHub handles information when you use the Android app.
Summary
- OCR runs on your device.
- You choose where contacts are saved: phone contacts or (optionally) Google Contacts.
- We do not show ads, run analytics SDKs, or sell your data.
- Contact the developer via the Google Play store listing for BizcardHub.
Information We Process
Camera and card images
BizcardHub requests camera permission to capture business card photos. You may also upload an existing photo. Text recognition (OCR) runs on-device using Google ML Kit (and on-device Tesseract for Thai). Card images are used to extract contact fields; they are not uploaded to i-Hub servers.
Contact information
When you scan or edit a card, the app may process names, job titles, companies, phone numbers, email addresses, websites, addresses, notes, and optional profile photos. You review and edit this information before saving.
-
Save to phone: Contact data is written to the device’s contacts store (and may be kept in
local app storage as needed for the feature). The app requests
READ_CONTACTSandWRITE_CONTACTSfor this purpose. - Save to Google Contacts (optional): If you sign in with Google and choose Google as the save destination, contact data (including optional profile photos) is sent to Google’s People API under your Google account, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Account information (optional)
If you sign in with Google for Contacts sync, the app may store your Google account email and related session preferences on the device so it can show signed-in status and request Contacts access. Core scanning and phone-save features work without a Google account.
Network
Internet access is used for optional Google sign-in and Google Contacts sync, and to check network availability. OCR itself does not require a developer cloud service.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs in the app.

- Android backup of app data is disabled (
allowBackupis false). - Traffic to Google APIs uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
i-Hub does not operate a BizcardHub backend that stores your scanned contacts.
Sharing
Contact and account data are shared with Google only when you opt in to Google Contacts as the save destination and authorize Contacts access. We do not share your data with other third parties for advertising or analytics.
Your Choices
- Deny or revoke camera or contacts permissions in Android Settings (some features will not work).
- Choose phone contacts instead of Google Contacts in Settings.
